It draws that more refrigerant from the receiver tank. High temp delta = needs a lot of refrigerant to cool it down. You want to check the liquid level under max load conditions. Either be cooling down from a higher than normal temp, open up the hot gas bypass all the way, or close the king valve and pump down the system.
